About the Role

This is a new position reporting to the Engineering Manager at the Jackson, TN facility, which produces Datacom & OEM Assembly products. As the facility continues to increase productivity and lower manufacturing costs, this role will provide direction and leadership to the Maintenance department.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the maintenance department to ensure all plant equipment is maintained and repaired with minimum downtime.
• Schedule and execute preventative maintenance for all machines.
• Supervise the installation of new machines, inspect them before use, and maintain records after they are in operation.
• Coordinate priority maintenance scheduling with production requirements in conjunction with production department managers and the production scheduling department.
• Enforce all safety procedures and policies.
• Establish contact with vendors as needed, prepare performance specifications, take and approve bids, and control all work to ensure quality and performance compliance.
• Budget and control department costs.
• Perform special projects as required.

Environmental Responsibilities

• Manage the environmental program, including routine compliance audits, corporate and government reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Monitor stormwater and wastewater discharge processes and prevention activities.
• Oversee oil spill prevention and control.
• Manage industrial solid waste activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date Hazard Communication Program.
• Conduct routine inspections, audits, and record-keeping.

Supervision Scope

Responsible for directing all Maintenance Department associates and controlling facility environmental efforts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Maintenance Engineering and Environmental Management in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage the big picture and deliver results.
• Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks and handle pressure on a daily basis.
• Strong motivational, communication, and continuous improvement skills.
• Critical thinker with excellent analytical ability.
• Solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills.
• High energy, urgency, and fast pace.
• Experience managing Health & Safety Programs, including safety training, record-keeping, and reporting.
• Experience working in a team-based environment and/or training in team dynamics, facilitation, and problem-solving.
• Facility expert on all Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) activities.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of Maintenance Engineering experience.
• Project Management experience.
• Proven ability to work in teams.
• BS degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
