About the role

Students will receive lead work direction from the Associate Dean & College Office Coordinator. Duties include but are not limited to organizing data and preparing documents for AACSB accreditation, campus deliveries, and pick-ups, occasionally assisting in answering phones & working reception when front office coverage is needed, filing, faxing, copying, mailings, assisting in preparing and setting up for JHBC events that the Dean's office coordinates, some lifting may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the JHBC Dean’s Office reception desk.
  • Communicate with guests via verbal, written, and electronic correspondence.
  • Work closely and assist JHBC departments concerning student employment procedures.
  • Maintain files (creating, updating and organizing).
  • Aid in clerical functions for the JHBC Dean’s Office (i.e., file paperwork, maintain an organized working environment, etc.).
  • Make deliveries to university departments and programs.
  • Assist with JHBC events.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
  • Follow oral instructions.
  • Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) for international students.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Office experience.
  • JHBC student.
  • Proficient in communication and writing.
  • Quick learner and able to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable.
  • Team player and individual environment.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other applications.
