About the Role

The Itinerant Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide regular “float” coverage to YKHC village clinics as assigned, delivering primary (acute, chronic, and preventive) health care and emergency care to patients seeking services at the village clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care, including acute, chronic, and preventive care.
• Deliver emergency care in village clinic settings.
• Manage routine and emergency/urgent care for adults, pediatric, OBGYN, and prenatal patients.
• Perform procedures such as suturing and splinting.
• Supervise and mentor NP/PA students and oversee community Health Aide clinical practice.
• Access and utilize computerized medical records.

Requirements

• Completion of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Training Program.
• Maintained certification and licensure as a PA or NP.
• Minimum four years of experience in outpatient clinic environments.
• Experience in family practice, emergency/urgent care, and chronic patient care.
• Confidence in performing suturing, splinting, and other emergency procedures.
• Alaska license, DEA license, and national certification for credentials.
• Proficiency in computer skills for accessing medical records.

Pay

Minimum hourly pay: $78.00.

Schedule

• Full-time position (80 hours per week).
• 40 hours per week.

Location: Bethel, Alaska. This is a temporary position under exempt FLSA status.
