Itinerant MTSS Secondary Instructional Coach - Desert Mirage High School - 2026/2027 School Year TEMPORARY CONTRACT

About the role

The itinerant Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Secondary Instructional Coach is responsible for building teachers’ capacity so that diverse learners meet the demands of adopted Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and implement effective literacy and mathematical practices in the classroom. The coach will provide ongoing academic classroom-based modeling, coaching, and mentoring; plan, implement, and deliver high-quality professional development across content areas; and support Professional Learning Communities (PLC)/Grade- or Content-level teams in inquiry, collaboration, and data analysis. The coach will serve on site leadership/ILT teams and support teachers in continuous improvement processes, guiding best-practice implementation to ensure fidelity of program and practice in support of core literacy and math growth across the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-going academic classroom-based modeling, coaching, and mentoring to secondary teachers
• Plan, implement, and deliver high-quality professional development across content areas
• Support Professional Learning Communities (PLC)/Grade Level or Content Level Teams in inquiry, collaboration, and data analysis
• Participate on site leadership/ILT teams and support teachers in the continuous improvement process
• Guide teachers in implementing best practices to promote fidelity of program and practice in support of core literacy and math skills growth across the curriculum

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching
• Minimum of one year of successful experience in leadership and/or coaching (desirable)
• Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree from an accredited institution; official transcripts required
• Master’s Degree (desirable)
• Valid California Credential authorizing Elementary or Single Subject Service and English Learner Authorization

Credentials & Clearances

• Department of Homeland Security I-9 Form completion
• TB Test Clearance
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
• Valid California Driver’s License during the course of employment; must be insurable at standard rates
• Three letters of recommendation dated within the last 12 months
