About the role

The IT Technician I is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software property-wide. The IT Technician I will also be the main point of contact for Members who are experiencing computer issues and will coordinate any IT-related infrastructure and development challenges with the Director of IT Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Members with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of workstations
  • Install, configure, and verify functionality of approved hardware and software using standard operating procedures
  • Assist Members with computer problems and answer their questions
  • User provision using an array of systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting in person or remotely if needed
  • Coordinate the needs of in-house IT users and remote Members, vendors, and contractors
  • Replace IT equipment such as monitors, desktops, laptops, etc. when needed
  • Reimage desktops and laptops when they need to be refreshed
  • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
  • Protect customer data from infiltration through encryption, secure data storage, and other necessary measures
  • Create SOPs for undocumented processes that can be used for training purposes
  • Open and close tickets for incidents, changes, work orders, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years of experience in computer networks and system maintenance for a large-scale luxury resort/casino
  • Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) preferred
  • Excellent IT, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security and data privacy principles
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Proven experience as an IT technician or comparable position
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365
  • Ability to work with non-IT team members to resolve technology issues
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Requires close vision and peripheral vision
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • May be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke
