About the role

The IT Technician installs, configures, and maintains computer hardware and software to ensure reliable performance. The role supports help desk operations by troubleshooting issues, resolving tickets, and documenting work accurately. The technician monitors Windows systems, assists with basic Windows Server and network support, and contributes to IT infrastructure projects and system rollouts.

This position will report to our office location in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment for commercial and residential clients.
• Deploy, configure, image, and upgrade Windows 10/11 systems, including BIOS/UEFI setup, driver installation, software configuration, and post-deployment testing.
• Repair and replace desktop, laptop, and mobile device components, including storage drives, memory, power supplies, keyboards, screens, and other internal hardware.
• Troubleshoot and resolve help desk tickets.
• Monitor Windows systems and assist with basic Windows Server and network support.
• Contribute to IT infrastructure projects and system rollouts.

Requirements

• Associate degree in an IT-related field or A+ Certification.
• Two years of work experience in administration, help desk, implementation, desktop support, and troubleshooting.
• Basic Windows Server and Network Support.

Qualifications

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients.
• Maintain physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Frequent opportunity to move about and work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements (extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, or other inclement weather).
• Walk over rough and uneven surfaces.
• Routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including but not limited to: hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
• Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

• Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations.
• Office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
• Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
