Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years of IT systems administration experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Database Administration: 8+ years of SQL experience, ERP system support, including experience writing SQL queries, supporting SQL-based environments and manufacturing floor systems (labeling, scanning, shop floor integrations).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficient in Windows Server, Linux/Unix systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and load balancers.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity practices.
- Strong documentation skills to create and maintain technical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date records of system configurations, incidents, and compliance audits.
- Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to meet business demands.
- Protect systems from threats through patching, updates, and compliance with security protocols.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical incidents and conduct root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with network engineers, application developers, and personnel to align IT systems with organizational goals.
- Manage vendor relationships for procurement, support, and implementation of IT services.
- Provide technical insights to guide strategic planning and present system performance reports to stakeholders.
- Lead projects to modernize and optimize IT infrastructure, including migrations, upgrades, and implementations at the direction of the Sr. IT Manager.
- Evaluate and select tools, technologies, and processes that align with organizational objectives.
- Share knowledge and provide training to junior administrators, fostering skill development.
- Define and enforce IT policies, ensuring consistent and secure system operations.
- Explore emerging technologies and recommend solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
