About the role
This role involves delivering innovative and reliable technology solutions to support and maintain MCSO servers, connectivity, and network systems. Key responsibilities include administering and managing the agency's IT infrastructure, with emphasis on Active Directory, Entra (Azure AD), Microsoft Exchange On-Premises and M365 Online, Windows Server environments, and system monitoring platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage the agency's IT infrastructure, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) environments, supporting Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and/or Microsoft 365) environments, and/or administering Windows Server environments.
- Install/configure, operate, and maintain operating systems and hardware.
- Ensure servers are up to date, operating at a maximum capacity, and protected against security threats.
- Maintain and monitor hosted applications, and provide agency-wide application updates.
- Review server or system logs to audit performance and prevent downtime.
- Assist with IT planning for hardware and software upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience administering and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, including administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) environments, supporting Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and/or Microsoft 365) environments, and/or administering Windows Server environments.
- Desired certification in 1 or more of the following: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, CompTIA Security+, Server+, or comparable enterprise infrastructure certifications.
Skills and Abilities
- Able to accurately enter and/or retrieve information from various computer systems and/or programs in a timely manner.
- Able to be a self-starter, while working well in a strong team environment.
- Able to maintain accurate records, logs, or other documentation as required by the position.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to efficiently organize, prioritize, schedule and manage daily work activities, tasks and assignments.
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware/software characteristics and features.
- Extensive knowledge of agency standards for information technology.
- Proven experience in Active Directory administration in a multi-forest environment.
- Hands-on experience with Entra (Azure AD) administration.
- Proficient in administering Microsoft Exchange On-Premises and Online.
- Proficient with PowerShell scripting skills.
- Experience managing and administering SIEM platforms.
- Working knowledge of computer technical publications and reference material.
- Skilled in communicating technical information to nontechnical users.
