IT System Administrator

About the role

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking an IT System Administrator for their Restricted Ground Systems. The ideal candidate will support Information System (IS) Risk Management Framework activities, including system categorization, IS package preparation, vulnerability scanning, change control processes, and system upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of Information Systems for DoD security programs.
• Support the assessment and mitigation of vulnerabilities throughout a systems life cycle.
• Execute security testing and evaluation to ensure correct implementation of security controls.
• Perform weekly system audit reviews, media reviews, hardware/software configuration management.
• Coordinate with team members to adjudicate vulnerability scan results.
• Support incident response and cleanup actions as needed.
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and procedures outlined in the System Security Plan (SSP).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required at time of hire.
• Experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) & Windows Administration.
• Trained and proficient in Assured File Transfer (AFT) procedures.
• Self-starter with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of STGs & Vulnerability resolution.

Qualifications

• Adjudicated polygraph.
• DoD 8570 Certification meeting IAM Level I (e.g., Security + CE, CAP, GSLC).
• Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

• Collaborative working style with cross-functional teams throughout the system life cycle.

Benefits

The target salary range for this position is USD $111,881.00/Yr. - USD $124,118.00/Yr. Actual pay may vary based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
