IT Support Technician

Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-line and second-line support for employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices to keep workplace technology functioning efficiently across the site.
  • Investigate connectivity and infrastructure problems involving wired networks, wireless access, and core network services, escalating when needed.
  • Support Microsoft 365 and Windows 10/11 environments, including user setup, account assistance, and routine system troubleshooting.
  • Track incidents and service requests through the ticketing process while providing clear updates and dependable customer service.
  • Keep accurate records for hardware inventory, technical procedures, and local support activity to improve continuity and accountability.
  • Work closely with plant leadership and other internal stakeholders to help ensure dependable IT operations within an industrial setting.
  • Take ownership of site-level technology needs and coordinate with broader IT teams on upgrades, implementations, or operational changes when required.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in desktop support, help desk, field support, or a similar IT support role.
  • Practical knowledge of troubleshooting and supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems.
  • Experience assisting users with Microsoft 365 and performing basic administrative tasks.
  • Ability to support common end-user equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work independently in a site-based support role.
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation, asset records, and service ticket updates.
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial environments, familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi, or certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are preferred.
