Brief Description Are you a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and keeping technology running smoothly? Kitchell is seeking an IT Support Technician II to join our Sacramento office, which supports a significant portion of our employee population. You’ll work locally alongside other Sacramento-based IT team members while collaborating closely with the broader IT department headquartered in Phoenix. In this customer-facing role, you’ll provide first- and second-level technical support involving hardware, software, connectivity, account access, and Microsoft 365. You’ll also contribute to employee onboarding, technology deployments, asset management, and technical documentation while helping deliver a consistent, secure, and positive technology experience across the organization. What You’ll Do Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance by phone, email, remote-access tools, or in person.Troubleshoot and resolve first- and second-level issues involving hardware, software, Windows, Microsoft 365, user accounts, business applications, and connectivity.Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and repair computers, mobile devices, printers, monitors, docking stations, and related equipment.Create and maintain user accounts, groups, shared mailboxes, and access permissions within Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.Support Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Adobe, Bluebeam, Autodesk products, and other approved business applications.Provide new employees with account setup, equipment, and guidance on company technology resources and policies.Document service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the IT ticketing system.Keep employees informed of ticket progress, expected next steps, and resolution timelines.Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend solutions that improve reliability and reduce repeat incidents.Create and maintain technical procedures, troubleshooting resources, and end-user knowledge articles.Support technology refreshes, office relocations, and new office or project-site deployments.Maintain accurate equipment inventory, assignment, configuration, and deployment records.Recognize and escalate suspected phishing, compromised accounts, malicious activity, and other cybersecurity concerns.Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to Level I support technicians. Requirements What You’ll Bring At least two years of progressively responsible desktop support, technical support, or help desk experience.Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, computer hardware, software, and user account issues.Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and endpoint-management concepts.Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, wired and wireless connectivity, printers, VPN technologies, and multifactor authentication.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.A customer-focused approach and the ability to explain technical information to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.Strong written and verbal communication skills.The ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently, and contribute to a collaborative team. Even Better If You Have An associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.Experience supporting construction, engineering, architecture, or another project-based organization.Experience supporting remote offices or project-site technology deployments.Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Autodesk products, or similar business applications.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered. Work Location and Schedule This position is based in Kitchell’s Sacramento office and works on-site 100% of the time. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role. Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment, with occasional work in telecommunications rooms, equipment closets, project sites, and active construction environments. Some after-hours work may be required to support deployments, maintenance, upgrades, outages, or other business-critical activities. Travel Periodic travel to other office locations and project sites is required to support employee needs, equipment installations, and technology deployments. Travel may include day trips and occasional overnight stays. Physical Requirements This position regularly sits, stands, walks, bends, kneels, and works beneath desks or workstations while installing, troubleshooting, or maintaining technology equipment. The role also involves safely lifting, carrying, moving, and installing computers, monitors, printers, network equipment, and related hardware, as well as using basic hand tools and approved installation equipment. The starting hourly range for this role is currently $33.00 - $36.00. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members.
