IT Support Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Chromebook Support Technician to assist with the setup, configuration, and refreshing of Chromebooks used in the education space. This is an entry-level, contract-to-hire position ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in educational technology support.
Location: Petersburg, VA
Arrangement: 100% onsite (two locations near each other)
Responsibilities
- Unbox, inventory, and prepare Chromebooks for deployment.
- Perform system refreshes, updates, and basic troubleshooting.
- Configure devices according to district standards and policies.
- Assist with labeling, asset tagging, and organizing devices.
- Provide support during device collection and redistribution periods.
- Maintain accurate records of device status and deployment progress.
- Collaborate with IT staff and school personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of technology and computer hardware.
- Experience with Google Chromebooks is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes/devices as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
