IT Support Engineer / Junior Sys Admin, Onsite in Dallas TX

A growing organization in Dallas is seeking an onsite IT Support / Junior Systems Administrator to join its technology team. This entry-level to early-career role combines hands-on technical support, systems administration, identity and access management, and workplace technology support in a fast-paced environment focused on operational excellence and security. The position offers exposure to a broad range of technologies including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, endpoint management, IAM processes, and basic infrastructure operations.
The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, collaborating with non-technical users, and expanding their technical skillset. Beyond day-to-day support, the role provides opportunities to contribute to automation initiatives, security improvements, endpoint management strategies, and IT roadmap discussions as the organization grows.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1-2 troubleshooting for hardware, software, networking, and peripheral devices
- Support Windows-based laptops and desktops
- Administer Google Workspace, including user accounts, groups, shared drives, and calendar resources
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes
- Handle Identity and Access Management (IAM) tasks, including:
- User provisioning and deprovisioning
- Password resets
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Access management and group permissions
- Support remote, hybrid, and onsite employees
- Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles
- Manage asset inventory
- Contribute to automation initiatives, security improvements, and endpoint management strategies
Requirements
- 0-2 years of professional IT Support, Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Junior Systems Administration experience
- Experience supporting Windows-based laptops and desktops
- Knowledge of Google Workspace administration
- Experience with user onboarding and offboarding processes
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts
- Strong documentation and knowledge base creation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Skills
- Desired:
- Experience administering Slack and Notion workspaces
- Exposure to macOS support
- Basic Linux knowledge
- PowerShell, Bash, or Google Apps Script scripting experience
- Understanding of SSO, Conditional Access, and Privileged Access concepts
- Experience with endpoint management solutions such as Intune, Jamf, or MDM platforms
- Basic networking knowledge including Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall concepts
- Experience reviewing security logs, audit records, or access reports
- Backup validation and disaster recovery testing experience
- Interest in automation, process improvement, and security initiatives
- Previous internship, lab, homelab, or hands-on project experience
