IT Strategy & Digital Innovation Manager

About the role

We manage the largest gas distribution network in the Czech Republic, ensuring safe and reliable gas supplies for over 2.3 million customers. As part of critical infrastructure, we are essential to the functioning of the domestic economy and backed by responsible shareholders: ČEZ Group, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), and Allianz Capital Partners (representing Allianz insurance companies).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and updating of IT strategy and the company’s digitalization direction.
• Manage the development of the IT service portfolio, focusing on internal customer relations and continuous improvement of IT service delivery.
• Prepare strategic analyses, benchmarks, and decision-making materials for company leadership.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality through technology.
• Monitor trends in energy, digitalization, data, AI, and automation, and apply them to IT development.
• Develop digital innovation management (innovation funnel) across the organization.
• Facilitate the creation of new digital use cases, including business case preparation and economic evaluation.
• Coordinate pilot testing of new solutions and support their transition into the project portfolio.
• Track the benefits of implemented initiatives (value, costs, risks).
• Collaborate with IT Governance and the project office on prioritization and management of the IT and innovation portfolio.
• Coordinate cross-cutting themes across IT and business units to strengthen collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience in a senior IT management or consulting role, including team leadership.
• Expertise in IT strategy, IT governance, digitalization, enterprise architecture, or management consulting.
• Ability to connect strategic direction with practical implementation and organizational impact.
• Familiarity with trends such as AI, data management, automation, process mining, or digital transformation.
• Experience in preparing business cases and economic evaluations of initiatives.
• Ability to manage and coordinate complex initiatives across the organization, even without direct authority.
• Strong skills in structuring complex problems and preparing high-quality materials for management.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in the energy, utilities sector, or critical infrastructure.
• Certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, PMP/Prince2, Lean Six Sigma, or cloud certifications.
• Experience in consulting (e.g., consulting, program management).

Schedule

Full-time position on a fixed-term contract.
