About the Role
The Senior Interface Analyst develops, tests, implements, and supports clinical and administrative data interfaces between Epic and ancillary systems, both internal and external. This role is part of a team accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) and new projects to improve integration between Epic and other systems.
The ideal candidate will use technical analytical skills to research and evaluate solutions, ensuring high-quality, efficient workflows that promote enterprise-wide standardization. They will also understand design and development principles related to interfaces, including data flow diagrams, data element dictionaries, file mappings, field layouts, and command-level operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, implement, and support data interfaces between Epic and ancillary systems.
- Provide production support, including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment.
- Research and evaluate solutions to improve integration and workflow efficiency.
- Apply design and development principles to interface projects (e.g., data flow diagrams, mappings, field layouts).
- Collaborate on major system implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Clinical/Engineering fields, or related discipline with an emphasis on analysis/design/process. Five years of related application maintenance/development in healthcare may substitute for the degree.
- Seven years of applicable work experience, with five years preferred in a healthcare setting.
- Expertise with healthcare industry standard messaging formats (e.g., HL7, XML, ANSI x12).
- Experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Current Epic Bridges certification (or must attain within the first 6 months of hire).
- Cloverleaf Level II certification (version 20.1 or higher) (or must attain within the first 6 months of hire).
- Cloverleaf version 5.8 or higher experience, including TCL usage in a Unix/AIX environment.
- Experience with at least two major system implementations.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology.
Skills
