It Specialist
Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Entry level role.
About the role
Interact with customers to understand their business environment, technical context, and organizational strategic direction. Define scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned projects. Collect, identify, define, and organize detailed user and IT requirements. Coordinate and collaborate with others to analyze collected requirements and ensure solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Confirm and prioritize project plans and deliverables with the customer.
Participate in business and technical IT solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions. Apply metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria. Prepare system documentation. Establish and maintain security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documents. Analyze, identify, and resolve business and technical problems using appropriate tools. Participate in special studies and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in both stand-alone and client-server environments, including MS server, Defense Message Systems, and other authorized IT systems.
- Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain hardware and software for network services, storage networking devices, and servers.
- Integrate multiple information systems in a networked environment, evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, and perform hardware upgrades and repairs to maintain mission capability.
- Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, and various transmission media, server hardware and software.
- Ensure proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for efficient network operation.
- Install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area and Base Area Networks.
- Perform Tier 1 troubleshooting on issues escalated from the Enterprise Service Desk.
- Reimage systems, push out Windows 11, roll out software upgrades, and ship hardware to users needing new equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- 2–4 years of experience preferred.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (certified in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level).
- Microsoft Fundamental certifications (e.g., AZ900, SC900).
- Secret clearance required.
- Familiarity with IPv6, routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, VPNs, and NAT.

Pay
$29.41 - $29.41/hour.
