Information TechnologyFull-time

About the role

Since its founding in 1992, Edgewood Properties has established itself as a leading real estate development and property management company. With corporate headquarters in New Jersey, the company is on a course of growth leading to activities across the nation. Given our rapid portfolio growth, coupled with ownership's desire to develop and hold rather than sell, the timing is ideal for qualified candidates to come on-board. We are seeking an IT Specialist to join Edgewood's newly established Information Technology team as one of its first dedicated support hires. This is a full-time position based onsite at Edgewood's headquarters in Piscataway, NJ, five days per week. This role also requires availability for on-call support outside standard business hours, as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Tier 1/2 IT support requests across the company (hardware, software, network, printing, mobile devices).
  • Triage and resolve tickets, escalating to the Director of IT Services or the managed service provider as needed, and confirm resolution before closing.
  • Set up, image, and deploy equipment for new hires; manage IT onboarding/offboarding checklists.
  • Participate in evaluating new IT systems, tools, and vendors alongside the Director of IT Services.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of new systems, including configuration, testing, and user training.
  • Support day-to-day administration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Egnyte under the Director of IT Services' direction (accounts, permissions, troubleshooting).
  • Maintain an accurate device and asset inventory.
  • Document IT processes, systems, and common resolutions to build out the department's knowledge base.
  • Grow into broader systems administration and security work over time — networking, firewalls, LDAP/SSO and identity, and general administration across Edgewood's environment (not required at hire; expected to be learned on the job).
  • Provide on-call support outside standard business hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address urgent system or business-continuity issues.
  • Coordinate with the Director of IT Services and the managed service provider on after-hours escalations.
  • Use AI tools daily to improve efficiency — drafting documentation, summarizing issues, writing scripts, and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI to IT support and other business processes, and help implement and test those solutions.
  • Support ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned; responsibilities will evolve as the department grows.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of IT support experience, or a degree/certification in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar) with relevant internship or coursework experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and general hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer-service skills; able to support non-technical staff clearly and patiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches to improve how IT supports the business.
  • Able to work onsite five days per week, with availability for on-call support outside standard business hours as needed.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to solve problems or improve efficiency.
  • Preferred: Basic scripting or automation exposure (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, Active Directory, or cloud file-sharing platforms.
  • Preferred: Curiosity about emerging IT tools and willingness to pilot new technology ahead of company-wide rollout.
  • Preferred: Interest in real estate, property management, or construction technology.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, life insurance, a 401(k), and a corporate team environment with opportunity of advancement
  • On-site company fitness gym
  • Discounts on housing and home appliances

Schedule

  • Full-time position based onsite five days per week
  • Availability for on-call support outside standard business hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
