About the role
Growth in our Risk Advisory practice has created an opportunity for an IT SOX Auditor/Consultant to work with our SOX practice. You will perform IT General Controls consulting, controls walkthroughs, and tests of operating effectiveness to support SOX consulting and audit engagements for a diverse client base, including technology, manufacturing, and financial services companies.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in office per week) and can be based out of any of the following U.S. office locations: New York, NY; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; or Buffalo, NY.
Responsibilities
- Perform process walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of various IT General Controls, including Access, Change Management, and Computer Operations
- Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data
- Draw informed, objective opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of IT controls
- Prepare work papers summarizing evidentiary data and conclusions
- Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls, and opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate the use of technology-based tools and methodologies to assess control design and operating effectiveness
- Adapt to the ever-changing compliance landscape and stay current with the latest IT threats and mitigation techniques
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration, or a related field
- 1 to 2 years of experience in ITGC audit/consulting with a public accounting firm
- Possession of, or desire to obtain, CISA or other equivalent certifications
- Effective client service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of IT general controls, operating systems, and databases
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 and varies by location. In addition to base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and a bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts depend on the role, hiring location, and the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
