IT Server Administrator - Onsite
About the role
Maintains a reliable, secure and efficient server and data storage network. Deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active server and storage devices to ensure smooth network operation. Participates on Technology team projects as needed. Establishes a reliable network by evaluating server and storage performance issues, recommending equipment selection, installation, configuration, and testing.
Responsibilities
- Technical lead in projects related to server and SAN environments.
- Aids in developing network policies and procedures.
- Maintains network performance through monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoots network problems; escalates issues to vendors.
- Secures network by developing access, monitoring, control, and evaluation methods; maintains documentation.
- Trains IT team members; provides references and support documentation.
- Upgrades servers and storage by consulting with vendors; designs, tests, evaluates, and installs enhancements.
- Meets financial requirements by submitting budget information; monitors expenses.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Achieves organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Develops and implements cost savings and performance improvement processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED required. Associates or technical degree preferred.
- Multiple IT networking certifications preferred.
- Experience in a 1000 user or greater environment a plus.
- 10 years of hands-on IT experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of desktop OS, Windows server 2008 and 2012, Active Directory, VMWare, SAN, Server Backup systems as well as security monitoring and virus scanning applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make formal presentations required.
- Interpersonal skills and abilities to deal effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Strong network troubleshooting skills with an emphasis on firewalls, routing, and WAN technology.

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time position with some evening and weekend work required.
