About the role

The IT Project Manager plays a pivotal role in planning, executing, and delivering technology projects that align with business objectives. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The IT Project Manager drives accountability, removes obstacles, and ensures high-quality, on-time delivery of IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of IT projects from initiation through closure
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and success criteria in partnership with business and IT stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts
  • Cook up cross-functional teams including IT, business partners, vendors, and external partners
  • Track progress, manage dependencies, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
  • Own project governance activities including status reporting, escalation management, and stakeholder reviews
  • Ensure project delivery aligns to enterprise standards, security requirements, and compliance expectations
  • Manage changes in scope, timeline, and cost through formal change control processes
  • Facilitate key project ceremonies such as kickoffs, standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives (as applicable)
  • Drive clear communication, alignment, and accountability across all project participants
  • Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and delivery best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects or technology-focused initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, infrastructure, applications, or enterprise systems
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Qualifications

  • Project management certification (PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe) preferred
  • Experience in large enterprise or matrixed organizations preferred
  • Familiarity with portfolio management, governance models, or enterprise delivery frameworks preferred
  • Experience leading vendor-managed or globally distributed teams preferred
  • Exposure to ERP, CRM, cloud platforms, or digital transformation initiatives preferred
