IT Security Lead

This role may convert to a permanent position after the initial 6-month contract term.

About the role

We are seeking an IT Security Manager for the IT department in Novi, MI. This individual will report directly to the IT Assistant General Manager and will be responsible for improving and maturing IT processes for regulatory and general controls to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience
• Automotive industry experience desirable
• Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science or similar field)

Responsibilities

• Review cybersecurity and risk standards, evaluate compliance gaps, and implement required security remediation
• Prepare monthly KPI reports and present them to the management team
• Provide updates and information sharing with senior management and key stakeholders
• Conduct root cause analysis and conclusions on cybersecurity and risk issues
• Proactively manage new controls and lead projects related to compliance or governance activities
• Guide application teams on best practices throughout all development and testing phases
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver training to the end-user community
• Collaborate with technology solution center, infrastructure, and internal audit teams to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot compliance processes
• Monitor and review changes and documentation updates for accuracy, currency, and compliance with policies and procedures
• Assist in managing control automation and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with change control procedures and policies; evaluate and participate in meeting requirements for re-validation
• Participate in the change management process to ensure all releases comply with IT general controls and enterprise standards
• Responsible for vulnerability scan reports, coordinating and monitoring progress with IT infrastructure in patch management
• Work with the IT team to build and maintain regulatory compliance evidence and reporting required by Internal Audit and external auditors
• Collaborate with internal and external auditing teams to deliver required regulatory compliance evidence, reporting, and answers to audit questions promptly
• Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures on a predetermined schedule
• Assist with IT and cybersecurity budget development and tracking
• Mentor junior members of the team and assist with skill development
