Salary: $40.28 - $64.45 hourly / $83,790 - $134,063 annually. This position is a Pay Band C11.

About the role

The IT PM-II is a member of the Department of Health's Information Technology Services Division's Project Management Office. The role manages concurrent medium and large IT projects using industry-standard disciplines and best practices, including project phases, knowledge areas, and processes. The IT PM-II gathers requirements for IT professional service requests, ensures compliance with Department of Information Technology (DoIT) IT requirements and State IT procurement rules, and manages resources to meet scope, budget, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise for IT project stakeholders from initiation to closeout.
  • Develop project documentation such as charters, project management plans, certification documents, presentations, monthly reports, and technical review documents.
  • Develop and process procurement documentation and manage project budgets.
  • Apply working knowledge of DoIT IT requirements and State IT procurement rules to guide projects.
  • Document project activity to produce project metrics.
  • Manage resources to ensure projects successfully meet scope, budget, and schedule objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or Information Technology and four (4) years of experience in software development, project management, or systems analysis, with a minimum of two (2) years in a project management role.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
  • CAPM/PMI-ACP certification may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • PMP/PgMP certification may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

  • IT project management experience using project management best practices.
  • Proficient stakeholder management, meeting coordination, and communication skills.
  • Effective schedule, resource, and task assignment capability.
  • Accurate budget tracking and reconciliation experience.
  • Strong analytic, risk, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of DoIT IT requirements and State IT procurement rules.

Working Conditions

  • Office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminals.
  • Extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. to move computer equipment.
  • Occasional in-state travel to DOH offices.

Pay

$40.28 - $64.45 hourly / $83,790 - $134,063 annually.
