IT Project Manager
About the role
The role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of a major ERP transformation. This position plays a critical role in the implementation and optimization of a large-scale ERP system, with a strong emphasis on project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed project plans for completion of tasks that consider schedules, dependencies, institutional priorities, and resource limitations and conflicts
- Cook up efforts of project teams to facilitate cooperation and prevent delays
- Develop and maintain standard project management documentation, such as project charters, project plans, timeline visuals, risk registers, issues logs, meeting agendas and summaries, and project status reports
- Proactively oversee project execution by following up on the completion of tasks, reporting potential delays to management, and coordinating problem resolution efforts in the event of technical difficulties
- Lead or attend regular meetings to update leadership, staff, clients, and the UGA Unified Team Project Director, Change Management Lead, Program Manager, and Project Facilitators for Finance, Human Resources, Service Delivery, and Change Management
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in project management, technical implementations or related roles supporting or leading ERP implementations or other large-scale system transformations, CAPM/PMP preferred. CAPM or PMP required within 6 months of employment date. 2+ years of experience working in higher education, public sector, or similarly complex organizational environments, 2 + years experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, 2+ years of experience coordinating cross-functional teams in fast-paced, evolving environments, 2+ years of experience with Project Management Tools for project tracking
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Excellent facilitation skills along with written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop planning materials and facilitate cross-functional technical sessions
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
- Strong ability to influence without direct authority and build relationships across various stakeholder groups
- Knowledge of Workday, Smartsheet, and/or PeopleSoft
Skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience with project management tools

$61,882 - $92,823 commensurate with experience
