About the role

Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc. generates electricity for the benefit of its 16 Member Distribution Cooperatives. The IT Project Manager will lead and coordinate technology projects that support business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate subject matter expertise for business owners when researching vendors and solutions.
  • Bridge the communication gap between IT and staff when needed to ensure clarity of scope, decisions, and impacts.
  • Develop and provide user training and supporting documentation to staff as requested for delivered solutions.
  • Responsible for managing IT projects (business case, reviewing, and prioritizing) to ensure alignment with need, resource allocation, project budgeting, and cost.
  • Ensure all projects meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Organize and manage all phases of IT projects to ensure on-time completion.
  • Cookordination project team members; assign individual responsibilities and track commitments and follow up action.
  • Engage with business partners to support their needs and facilitate implementation.

  • Utilize the Change Leader initiative in each project to support the organization in absorbing change and adopting projects post-deployment.
  • Provide intermediary service between staff and contractors/vendors by coordinating communication, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify improvement opportunities related to assigned projects and communicate observations to IT leadership.
  • Analyze business problems and translate those problems into actionable IT solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to IT technical teams on solutions that support business goals.
  • Ensure accurate entry of purchase requisitions in alignment with budgeted items, consult on budget-related matters during the budgeting process, and coordinate with other departments to address their budgeting needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in IT preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the utility industry preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ project management experience preferred and/or demonstrated understanding of project management principles and best practices including involvement of external providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and gain support.
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management best practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT discipline.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
