IT Project Coordinator Intern

About the Program

Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program aims to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for interns to Learn about the industry, be Educated by Sr. Leadership and peers, Achieve personal goals, and Develop skills and knowledge. The program offers shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects, and corporate outings. Interns are treated like full-time Partners, working 40 hours per week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and are based at headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between IT professionals and business users.
• Elicit, document, analyze, and review business and technical requirements (User Stories).
• Lead problem-solving efforts between cross-functional teams.
• Work with Project Managers to plan overall project strategy, assess risk, create schedules, and allocate resources.
• Engage with the project team to manage key action items, coordinate meetings, and take thoughtful notes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 2-year or 4-year college degree in Computer Information Systems, Project Management, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Understands general business functions/workflows and adapts quickly to new areas of the business.
• Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Enthusiastic, self-starter with the ability to work in a group or independently.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables).
• Passion or interest in organization, technology, and working through ambiguous concepts.
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Workday, Monday.com) is a plus.
