IT Policy Analyst

Location: Bethesda, MD or McLean, VA (full-time onsite)

Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Must be able to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

About the role

Assured Consulting Solutions provides strategic and innovative solutions for customer needs across the business, technology, and organizational spectrum. As a member of our team, you will work with customers that are both Government and industry leaders and technology innovators. The Contractor shall use its best practices to prepare required documents, subject to Sponsor approval for content, form, quantities, and delivery schedule. Delivered documents are also subject to Sponsor review, and disapproved documents shall be updated or corrected and resubmitted for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Research and write policies: Conduct extensive research on IT, Cyber, Data, and AI issues and develop draft policy documents ensuring clarity, coherence, specificity, and alignment with organizational or government policies and regulations.
• Prepare operational and strategic plans: Contribute to the preparation of operational and strategic plans to guide government or organization initiatives.
• Identify emerging trends: Monitor and analyze policy trends that may impact the organization or agency. Provide recommendations to inform policy decisions or adapt existing policies.
• Maintain and update databases: Maintain and update databases containing policy information, research, and statistics.
• Share information regarding policies: Communicate policy updates via various methods.
• Collect policy feedback: Gather feedback to assess policy impact and identify improvements.
• Write reports: Create evidence-based, well-structured reports for policymakers, government officials, and the public that effectively communicate policy rationale.

Requirements

• A minimum of four years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience developing decision-quality materials (strategic papers, options analyses, executive briefings) and driving executive action tracking.
• Experience overseeing or guiding portfolio/program performance, resource planning, and acquisition/procurement strategy (including vendor management and enterprise licensing concepts).
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, or a related field and at least 6 years of related experience. Four years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years with a Master’s Degree.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience translating mission priorities into actionable IT roadmaps, investment plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience with AI architecture patterns (model hosting, vector search/RAG, data pipelines, APIs, orchestration).
• Experience briefing senior leaders and driving cross-team delivery.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to work onsite in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment, as required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with government customers, technical teams, and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
