IT PACS Systems Administrator
About the role
The IT PACS Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing the administration of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and related medical imaging applications infrastructure. This includes leading the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of PACS and related medical imaging applications software and hardware components. Collaboration with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure efficient use of the PACS system.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete administration of PACS and related medical imaging applications infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient use of the PACS system.
- Proactively monitor and optimize PACS performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted access to medical imaging data.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to end-users, troubleshooting complex PACS-related problems.
- Implement process changes, collect data, and make recommendations to expedite workflow. Monitor systems, interfaces, and integration pieces to include daily QC reports.
- Inform all medical imaging leadership of changes, problems, and upgrades to PACS and related medical imaging applications.
- Provide user training and technical support for PACS-related applications and activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging related field, computer science, Health Informatics, clinical imaging technology, or equivalent job experience.
- 3+ years of experience in PACS administration, including hands-on involvement in system implementation and optimization.
Qualifications
- Deep PACS architecture expertise.
- Extensive experience with database management, virtualization, storage, and networking in healthcare imaging.
Skills
- Strong technical skills in PACS administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor junior staff.

Pay
The posted compensation range for this position is $38.34 - $63.26 per hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Schedule
This role is full-time with a weekly schedule of Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and operates on a standard 80-hour pay period.
