We are looking for an IT Operations Tech to deliver onsite technical support across facilities in Elko, NV. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing end-user assistance with infrastructure, networking, and systems support in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first- and second-level onsite support for employee devices, business applications, Microsoft 365 tools, and connectivity-related incidents.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving local networks, wireless access, endpoint performance, and core infrastructure components.
- Set up, configure, and maintain networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless hardware.
- Complete physical IT installation work, including structured cabling, rack mounting, patch panel organization, hardware deployment, and workstation setup.
- Administer user lifecycle activities through Active Directory and Entra ID, including account provisioning, access changes, and device preparation.
- Support conference room technology and collaboration platforms to keep meetings and video communications running smoothly.
- Track equipment inventory, maintain technical documentation, and keep site records accurate for assets and infrastructure.
- Manage service requests with clear updates and documentation while coordinating onsite work with broader infrastructure teams.
- Participate in deployment efforts such as hardware refreshes, network expansion, equipment provisioning, and other operational IT initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical experience in IT support, infrastructure operations, systems administration, or a closely related technical role.
- Strong background supporting Windows environments and resolving end-user hardware and software issues.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and tools, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networks, switching, and routing.
- Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and endpoint or device management platforms.
- Ability to perform hands-on infrastructure tasks involving cabling, racks, patch panels, network devices, and desktop hardware.
- Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize issues and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer support skills, along with a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between nearby sites as needed.
