Location: Raleigh, NC (onsite with hybrid schedule – reporting to the office 4 days a week). Schedule: Monday‑Friday 9 am‑6 pm ET, with occasional on‑call rotation and after‑hours work.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and Wi‑Fi connectivity issues, including switches, routers, and cabling.
- Resolve trouble tickets generated through ServiceNow.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
- Assist Tier 1 support in diagnosing and resolving LAN‑related problems.
- Provide Tier 2 support for LAN‑related incidents and service requests escalated from Tier 1.
- Collaborate with Tier 3 LAN Engineers for complex issue resolution.
- Perform duties in support of the mission as directed by US Government Client Management.
- Typically perform all functional duties independently.
- Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize/manage own workload.
Education Requirements
- Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience.
- A degree from an accredited college/university in the applicable field is preferred.
- Four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree; if the degree is not in the applicable field, an additional four years of related experience is required.
- Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case‑specific basis.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of applicable network experience and support.
- Proficiency in LAN protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for Layer 1 and Layer 2.
- Understanding of LAN security standards and methodologies.
- Proven experience with LAN networking and wireless solutions such as Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet.
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ticketing systems.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team mindset.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying up‑to‑date with LAN engineering trends and technologies.
- Preferred: Cisco or other applicable networking certifications.
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust clearance.
- US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder) required.
- Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years and must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
Schedule
Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑6 pm ET with occasional on‑call rotation and after‑hours work. Hybrid arrangement: on‑site 4 days per week, with potential future changes.
