About the role

Enterprise Mobility is a leading provider of mobility solutions, owning and operating the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands. Our IT teams innovate, design, and develop the technology that redefines how customers rent, buy, and share vehicles. As an IT Manager, you will lead and oversee the 24/7 support of our Data Integration environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and security of our data replication services that support numerous applications and reporting functions across Enterprise Mobility.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-person attendance as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Oversee and manage a team of data integration engineers with a focus on agility and continuous improvement, providing 24/7 support.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective team performance and development.
    • Coordinate with senior management and other departments to align data integration objectives with organizational goals.
    • Handle escalations, both internal and external, and manage support from different levels.
    • Manage tools, systems, and procedures to ensure dynamic management of issues and customer interactions.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Own and drive multiple simultaneous efforts and roadmaps through close coordination with various IT teams and external vendors.
    • Develop and implement processes and procedures to optimize operations and improve efficiency.
    • Monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Ensure continual process improvement within data integration, including automation of operational tasks and reporting, implementation of enterprise-wide monitoring initiatives, and routine administration tasks.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the performance and efficiency of data integration infrastructure operations.
    • Collaborate with senior management to align IT operations with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and mitigate risks.
  • Incident and Problem Management:
    • Establish and enforce incident management processes to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
    • Lead the resolution of critical incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams to restore services expediently.
    • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and coordinate larger projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
    • Collaborate with project teams to plan, execute, and monitor data protection infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or the immediate surrounding area.
  • 6+ years of related IT experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including hiring, 1-1 meetings, career coaching/mentoring, performance reviews, and salary reviews.
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical professionals within a complex environment.
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement of team members and technology through the capture, analysis, and reporting of key performance, utilization, and cost metrics.
  • Experience managing 3rd party and vendor relationships and negotiations.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Proficiency with Data Replication disciplines in both on-premise and cloud infrastructure environments.
    • Experience working in a large technology/data replication environment.
    • Awareness and understanding of data replication concepts and technologies.
    • Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate or Qlik Replicate.
    • Familiarity with cloud solutions like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
    • Awareness and understanding of IP networking.
    • Ability to challenge current solutions, determine appropriate solutions, and ensure alignment across the organization.
    • Adept at improving outcomes through proactive coaching and development at all levels.

Skills

  • Flexibility in supporting application releases off-hours; flexibility in participating in a team-based on-call rotation for emergencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AWS or Azure technologies, products, and services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working in an Agile/Kanban development environment, using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to balance risk with business priorities and apply the appropriate sense of urgency to issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
