IT Infrastructure Manager II

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the infrastructure team, providing technical mentorship, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with managers and cross-functional teams to ensure clear paths for handling blocking issues and smooth service delivery.
  • Cook up vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets related to infrastructure services.
  • Lead key infrastructure initiatives, including but not limited to system upgrades, migrations, acquisition integrations, and technology modernization projects.
  • Define and contribute to the infrastructure roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and new technologies.
  • Manage the composition, implementation, and continuous operations of core infrastructure, covering servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
  • Monitor and optimize performance, availability, and capacity across environments.
  • Maintain standardized processes across nVent sites to ensure consistent infrastructure operations.
  • Run vulnerability remediation processes, including planning and patching across infrastructure systems.
  • Cook up responses to infrastructure-related security alerts and incidents, working with the Cyber Security team and other collaborators as necessary.
  • Address and remediate audit findings, ensuring infrastructure controls align with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities remain tested and operational.
  • Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and asset inventories.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with at least 6 years in a managerial position.
  • Shown success in leading cross-site infrastructure projects and distributed teams.
  • Deep technical expertise in: Server Environments (Windows, Unix/Linux), End User Devices (Windows PC, Virtual PC, iPhone), Collaboration Suites (M365), Networking (LAN, WAN), Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Cloud Platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS), Storage & DR (Backup and disaster recovery solutions).
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT security principles and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience working in a large global enterprise a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional Certifications: CompTIA certifications, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English.

Pay

Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range $105,000.00 - $195,000.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
