Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person
  • Install, configure, and deploy computer systems, peripherals, and software applications
  • Aid users with application issues and guide them in utilizing software effectively
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper software licensing
  • Document, track, and manage support requests in the help desk ticketing system
  • Provide basic IT training to staff on new technologies
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on the resolution of more complex issues
  • Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Availability to work in the office and assist during emergencies or after hours as needed
  • Availability to travel to various office locations and other job sites as needed

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate various IT devices
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 pounds may be required

Work Conditions

  • The IT Help Desk Technician will primarily work in an office environment with frequent travel to other office locations to assist with technical support
  • Routine office hours are expected, with flexibility needed for after-hours support during critical incidents or system upgrades
