About the role
The IT Financial Analyst supports the Information Services Division and plays a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing IT expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Budget Monitoring & Analysis
- Track and analyze IT spend across hardware, software, services, and projects.
- Compare actual expenditures against budget forecasts and identify variances.
- Provide recommendations for cost optimization and budget adherence.
- Purchase Approval Routing
- Review IT purchase requests for compliance with budget and policy.
- Route approvals through appropriate channels and ensure timely processing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase approvals and related documentation.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IT financial reports for leadership.
- Develop dashboards and metrics to visualize IT spend trends.
- Support forecasting and planning activities for IT budgets.
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Assist in tracking vendor invoices and contract renewals.
- Ensure proper allocation of costs to projects and cost centers.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to organizational financial policies and IT procurement standards.
- Support audits and provide necessary documentation for IT-related financial transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of OMES, partner agencies, and IT Enterprise Governance.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in IT or technology-related environments.
