IT Field Support Technician

About the role

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Tier 1 Level IT Support Technician to join our team and support our client located about 20 minutes from the Gibsonia / Allison Park area. This role will be 100% on-site at the client location. The ideal candidate will have good technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position involves providing technical support for hardware, software, and operating systems, ensuring exceptional customer service in a professional business environment. Support may also extend to other network-connected devices.

Responsibilities

• Set up new user accounts and profiles and handle password-related issues.
• Support the training and roll-out of new applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair printers, scanners, and smart boards.
• Perform Chromebook repairs.
• Utilize Google Suite for support tasks.
• Answer basic questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of network-connected devices.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Provide clear communication when working with customers and team members.
• Escalate complex problems as needed.
• Prioritize and manage multiple open cases simultaneously, maintaining accurate records in the ticketing database system.
• Work on assigned projects on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school, or related work experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in a professional helpdesk environment preferred, or a related degree with an internship in the field.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and other network protocols is preferred.
• Basic understanding of networks, PC computer support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, or classroom experience.
• COMPTIA A+ certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, Outlook, and client-specific programs.
• Aptitude for quick learning of technical and procedural topics, self-motivation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform multiple duties, stay highly organized, work overtime when necessary, and be an excellent team player.
