About the Role
This position requires an experienced IT Developer to support ETL projects within a data solutions team. The role involves developing and maintaining data ingestion processes from diverse sources, primarily focusing on on-premises SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced SQL, SSIS, and development tools to facilitate efficient data integration and transformation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes utilizing SQL Server, SSIS, and Visual Studio.
- Ingest and process data from multiple sources including files, Oracle, Kafka, and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with enterprise data teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and security.
- Utilize advanced SQL, GIT, and Azure DevOps for version control and deployment workflows.
- Integrate AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity and data analysis capabilities.
- Maintain and debug code within Visual Studio using C#.
- Support data engineering activities in AWS environments, including data ingestion, transformation, and integration with S3 and Snowflake.
- Implement best practices for data security, governance, and compliance throughout development processes.
- Stay current with industry advancements in data engineering, cloud technologies, and AI tools.
- Document technical specifications, procedures, and implementation details for ongoing support and enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data center development, primarily working with on-prem SQL Server environments.
- Proven expertise in advanced SQL (SQL Server 2019 preferred), SSIS, and Visual Studio with C#.
- Hands-on experience with ETL development, data ingestion, and process automation.
- Familiarity with cloud data engineering, including AWS services related to data ingestion, transformation, and storage (S3, Snowflake).
- Experience using AI-powered tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance data workflows and analysis.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps or Git version control systems.
- Knowledge of ingesting various file formats, including fixed-width, CSV, and sub-record files, as well as integrating with Oracle and Kafka sources.
- 2+ years of practical AWS data engineering experience, including data transformation and integration tasks.
- Ability to work on-site regularly to support team collaboration and project execution.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work during scheduled hours and maintain compliance with company policies.
Pay
$70.00 – $75.00 hourly
