About the Role

IT Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. This includes documenting detailed system specifications, participating in unit testing, and maintaining planned and unplanned internally developed applications. IT Developers also evaluate and performance-test purchased products, ensuring IT Controls protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data. This role is assigned to intermediate-level development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Write code for intermediate-level system designs, enhancing existing programs or developing new programs.
  • Write programs that span platforms and create or work with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Review code developed by other Associate and IT Developers.
  • Provide input to and drive programming standards.
  • Write detailed technical specifications for subsystems and identify integration points.
  • Report missing elements in system and functional requirements and explain impacts on subsystems to team members.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging, setting test conditions based on code specifications.
  • Seek review by more senior or Advanced IT Developers.
  • Scope time, resources, and requirements for programming projects, seeking review from other IT Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, or Project Managers on estimates.
  • Debug complex errors with assistance from other IT Developers and team members.
  • Support the transition of applications throughout the Product Development life cycle, documenting migration requirements and coordinating subsystems.
  • Research vendor products and alternatives, assisting with gap analysis and comparison.
  • Ensure IT Controls are included and standard corporate practices are followed to protect application and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Adhere to all SDLC guidelines as defined by the SDLC Office to support audit compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong DevOps expertise with hands-on experience in container orchestration platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), cloud providers (AWS/Azure), and scripting SQL queries for MS SQL Server and/or DB2 databases.
  • Utilize AI tools such as Windsurf, Devin, Codium, Claude Code, or Codex.
  • Develop APIs with proficiency in Java, Python, or NodeJS.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related work experience in IT development, programming, or coding.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and understanding of unit testing, release procedures, coding design, documentation protocol, and change management procedures.
  • Proficiency using versioning tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated database and SQL skills.
  • Flexible team player with the ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Initiative and effective independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle.
  • Proficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language.
  • Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio.
  • Proficiency using debugging tools.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience using Agile methodology.
  • Relevant Development certifications.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally. This position may require occasional travel to support business operations, including office meetings, collaboration, events, and other work-related activities.

Pay

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. Regular annual reviews consider pay-for-performance for base pay increases.

Typical Annualized Offer/Hiring Range: $77,600 - $97,000

Annualized Salary Range: $77,600 - $126,100

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
