IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS/INFOSEC)

This position is in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) under 10 USC 1599f and does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service. It supports the mission of the US Cyber Command and is located in DISA - HC/DoDNET Services.

Responsibilities

  • Direct comprehensive analysis to identify, define, and implement strategic efforts supporting operations for both on- and off-premise cloud infrastructure.
  • Identify potential risk areas for hardware changes, including operational support models maintaining multiple processes depending on infrastructure.
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance on IT issues affecting broad organizational components or entire organizations.
  • Oversee broad subject-matter IT areas, including models, communications, architecture, systems planning, and long-term system development to identify application areas.
  • Responsible for operational support models and/or life-cycle system development.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).li>
  • Subject to initial and random drug testing.
  • In accordance with DoD 8140 policy, must complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months.

Qualifications

To qualify for this GG-14 position, applicants must meet the following:

  • Basic Requirements: IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies:
    • Attention to Detail: Reviewing IT-related work or data and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
    • Customer Service: Developing and maintaining customer relationships, assessing IT needs, and tailoring solutions.
    • Oral Communication: Briefing senior management and IT staff on system status, projects, or operations, including complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
    • Problem Solving: Identifying alternatives for unique, complex, or sensitive IT issues and evaluating potential solutions.
  • Qualifying Experience: At least one year of experience in:
    • IT architecture, systems planning, and long-term system development to identify application areas.
    • Life-cycle system development.
    • Implementing strategic efforts for on- and off-premise cloud infrastructure operations.

Volunteer experience (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) may be credited as qualifying experience. Candidates must describe how they meet qualifications in their resume. All requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date.

There is no substitution of education for qualifying experience at the GG-14 grade level.

Additional Information

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service.
  • A three-year trial period may be required if not previously completed in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability is based on mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • Selected candidates may be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
