IT Certification Bootcamp Instructor - CompTIA CySA+

Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts. CIAT has campus locations in San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM. This is a non-exempt, variable-hour position reporting to the VP of Education.

Responsibilities
- Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams, including evenings and weekends based on the course schedule
- Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement, aligning with CIAT’s adult learner framework and certification readiness
- Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter in a synchronous online format
- Maintain current certifications in subjects taught through renewal and demonstrate thorough, accurate knowledge of the field
- Connect subject matter with related fields and stay current through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attendance at meetings, conferences, or workshops
- Design, update, and align course materials with college standards for adult learners, ensuring curriculum accuracy and relevance
- Select instructional materials that align with course objectives and keep the curriculum up to date
- Review course material for accuracy and relevance, providing recommendations for improvements
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards for instructional quality and education
- Maintain accurate and updated student attendance and grade records in the student database
- Adhere to CIAT policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements related to instructional quality and scheduled class hours
- Promote collaboration with staff and participate in new projects and initiatives
- Adhere to CIAT’s business casual attire policy (neat, clean clothing without rips or holes; polo shirts are acceptable)
- Maintain FERPA compliance and handle student data securely in accordance with institutional policy
Requirements
- Appropriate certification in one or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Minimum of one year of experience in a training setting, ideally delivering IT certification bootcamps
- Advanced subject matter expertise preferred
- Synchronous online teaching experience preferred
- Prior experience in curriculum development and instructional design for IT certification bootcamps
- Familiarity with CertMaster, TestOut, or similar training tools is preferred
- Effective presentation skills and high level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and learning technologies such as Canvas
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multitask effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with a sense of urgency while engaging with colleagues across departments
- Ability to work collaboratively to support student success, achieve institutional goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives
- Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and others
- Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional delivery
Schedule
This is a variable-hour position. Days and hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, but weekend hours may be required. Live bootcamp classes will be scheduled Monday through Friday or on Saturdays and Sundays for 8 hours per day. Class times are to be determined.

$41 - $44 USD per hour

This is a remote position, and the job holder will work in a home office environment. Employees are expected to ensure their home office is a safe and ergonomic working environment.
