IT Certification Bootcamp Instructor - CompTIA CySA+

Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts. CIAT has campus locations in San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM. This is a non-exempt, variable-hour position.

Responsibilities

• Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams, with flexibility for evenings and weekends based on the course schedule.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement, ensuring alignment with CIAT’s adult learner framework and certification readiness.
• Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter in a synchronous online format.
• Actively maintain and renew certifications in the subject area(s) taught.
• Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field, connecting subject matter with related disciplines and staying current through professional development.
• Design, update, and align course materials with college standards for adult learners, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
• Review course material for accuracy and relevance, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain accurate and updated student attendance and grade records in the student database.
• Promote collaboration with staff and participate in new projects and initiatives.
• Adhere to CIAT’s business casual attire policy and maintain FERPA compliance when handling student data.

Requirements

• Appropriate certification in one or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a training setting, ideally delivering IT certification bootcamps.
• Advanced subject matter expertise preferred.
• Synchronous online teaching experience preferred.
• Prior experience in curriculum development and instructional design for IT certification bootcamps.
• Familiarity with CertMaster, TestOut, or similar training tools is preferred.
• Effective presentation skills and a high level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and learning technologies such as Canvas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multitask, and problem-solve effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and interact professionally.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects diversity.
• Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher education.
• Adherence to all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity and student conduct.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

This is a remote position to be performed in a home office environment. Employees must ensure their home office is safe and ergonomic. The company is not responsible for maintaining home office environments beyond reasonable accommodations and necessary work-related equipment. Employees must maintain data security and confidentiality in accordance with company policies.

Pay

$41 - $44 USD per hour.
