IT Business Systems Analyst
About the role
We're seeking an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst who can bridge the gap between field operations and enterprise systems-translating real-world workflows into scalable, technology-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into clear system specifications and solutions
- Gather and document functional and technical requirements
- Document process flows and system workflows
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system implementations
- Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and IT teams
- Develop and deliver training materials for operational users
- Identify inefficiencies and drive system-based solutions that work in real-world environments
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or IT Business Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
- Direct experience supporting construction, field service, utilities, or similar operational industries
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.), field service management or scheduling platforms, job costing or project-based systems
- Strong experience gathering and documenting: Functional requirements, Technical requirements, Process flows and system workflows
- Familiarity with process improvement and workflow optimization
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, finance, and IT teams
- Experience with change management and user adoption initiatives
- Experience with reporting and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Strong ability to analyze KPIs, operational metrics, and performance data
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of construction operations, field execution, or project-based environments
- Experience working directly with field teams, superintendents, estimators, or dispatch/scheduling teams
- Background in job costing, estimating, or project tracking workflows
- Exposure to system integrations and vendor coordination
Skills
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
- Experience with field service management or scheduling platforms
- Experience with job costing or project-based systems
- Experience with change management and user adoption initiatives
- Experience developing and delivering training materials for operational users
