Responsibilities
- Service and support sites where QAD is already implemented.
- Design and develop innovative, scalable solutions by understanding system architecture and business requirements (e.g., database modifications, access management, process optimization).
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders, global Crane teams, and third-party software providers to define, communicate, and deliver solutions.
- Engage directly with end users and external partners to gather requirements and explain technical solutions in business-friendly terms.
- Provide issue resolution across QAD environments, coordinating with global teams across different time zones.
- Adhere to the Crane SDLC for program deployment, ensuring governance and technical feasibility.
- Follow program revisioning practices and ensure proper deployment controls.
- Develop customized solutions aligned to functional specifications and convert them into technical deliverables.
- Cook up and support testing activities, including Conference Room Pilots and major ERP implementation events (e.g., tollgate milestones).
- Support bulk data changes, data validation, and migration from legacy systems.
- Participate in ISO and SOX audit sessions related to QAD processes.
- Research and recommend best practices, new technologies, and third-party solutions.
- Validate third-party services and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Provide training to Crane associates on QAD enhancements and processes.
- Collaborate with global teams both remotely and on-site, supporting internal customers and driving alignment.
- Work within Agile, Waterfall, and Crane Tollgate methodologies for ERP implementations.
Qualifications
- Advanced diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent ERP-related field.
- Minimum 3 years of program development experience, with a strong focus on building innovative, business-driven solutions.
- Proven ability to think systematically and develop creative technical solutions based on business requirements.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing software solutions supporting business operations.
- Experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with QAD ERP preferred (2007SE through Adaptive 2024) or equivalent ERP systems.
- Experience working with 4GL technologies such as Progress ABL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle.
- Strong experience interfacing with users and stakeholders, including requirement gathering and solution explanation.
- Experience supporting global operations and resolving issues across time zones.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong customer-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for major project milestones.
