About the role

BBG (Brunswick Boat Group), a division of Brunswick Corporation, is looking to recruit a highly energized IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM). The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will serve as a valued member of the IT Business Alignment team and will contribute/connect to Brunswick’s Enterprise IT functional teams. They provide thought leadership on industry trends and innovation opportunities within their respective business areas, turning these into IT projects that deliver future capabilities. The role ensures strategic and tactical alignment between the business organization (functional areas) and the IT organization. The BRM acts as the primary point of contact for business partners for new IT capability requests, issue escalation, IT-related budgeting, and achieving mutual IT and business-related goals.

The BRM is the IT planning lead for their business partner(s) and, along with the respective Functional Area Manager, is the conduit through which business priorities and needs are communicated and incorporated within the overall IT & PMO plans. The BRM also works across the IT organization to ensure their business partner’s unique needs are incorporated in IT standards and enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Demand stewardship and management of the system portfolio, including periodic review of services provided to the customer.
  • Drive alignment between business and IT strategies, serving as a “trusted advisor” to the business.
  • Act as a thought leader around the application of information technology to business processes and challenges.
  • Attend designated partner meetings and may shadow team members.
  • Develop and maintain the IT strategy for their area of responsibility, ensuring alignment with the overall IT strategy.
  • Provide customer-focused service with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend issues/needs, and recommend solutions.
  • Navigate the IT organization on behalf of the business to resolve issues, concerns, or problems.
  • Lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Own IT project activities from ideation to project manager assignment and participate through project implementation.
  • Work across IT to understand new technology trends and forecast future IT infrastructure requirements.
  • Provide alternative solutions and process improvement ideas to stakeholders.
  • Work with leadership on annual IT budgets and forecasts as they relate to their function.
  • Create and manage an actionable roadmap outlining IT deliverables.
  • Work with business partners to develop cost/benefit analysis and business cases.
  • Ensure business benefits associated with IT projects are quantified and realized post-project.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Review project status with project managers and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Manage individual and team workload to deliver to agreed release milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business domain, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent industry experience. Master’s degree (MIS) or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT solutions experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with IT solution design/development teams (internal or external).
  • 3+ years of experience working within a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in operations software applications with knowledge of quality and engineering applications/processes/practices.
  • Experience working with third parties to enhance/enable delivery for the business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or awareness of EQMS (QAD) and other quality systems.
  • Knowledge or awareness of TeamCenter (Siemens) and other engineering systems.
  • Experience with modern ERP systems (such as Oracle Fusion or Dynamics 365).
  • Certifications such as BRMP, PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL.
  • IT project experience across multiple industries, markets, and/or functional areas.
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $86,500-$126,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions depend on candidate qualifications and business context. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
