The IT Business Partner serves as the strategic relationship owner, primary point of contact, and IT planning lead for assigned Finance, Payroll, and Corporate business stakeholders. This role thrives in a fast-paced, global, and transformational environment, connecting business priorities with practical, value-driven technology solutions.
The IT Business Partner works closely with the SAP Finance team and broader IT organization to translate business priorities, process improvement opportunities, and technology needs into actionable IT roadmaps and delivery plans. Responsibilities include the intake, assessment, prioritization, implementation, and value realization of technology initiatives across Finance and Corporate application landscapes such as Treasury, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and Payroll.
The successful candidate will have functional familiarity with SAP Finance processes and related technologies such as Concur, BlackLine, ONESOURCE, IT2, and Power BI. They will be outcome-oriented, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and capable of leveraging AI technologies as productivity and insight enablers. This hybrid position is based in Wayne, PA.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the trusted advisor and primary liaison between IT and Finance, Payroll, and Corporate business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business priorities, strategic objectives, and IT capabilities.
- Partner with business teams, IT colleagues, and external vendors to define business requirements, evaluate solutions, and support successful implementation of technology initiatives.
- Shape solution scope, clarify business objectives, document functional requirements, and ensure alignment with operational, compliance, and SOX control requirements.
- Analyze business processes across Finance, Payroll, Treasury, Tax, Planning, and Controls functions to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, improved reporting, and enhanced user experience.
- Support project delivery activities including testing, user acceptance validation, issue resolution, risk identification, and change adoption.
- Influence senior stakeholders and support prioritization of investments, project portfolios, and assigned budgets.
- Provide guidance on emerging technologies, AI-enabled capabilities, analytics, automation, and industry trends relevant to Finance and Corporate functions.
- Manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities, ensuring commitments are tracked, risks are communicated, and dependencies are addressed proactively.
- Lead through influence by facilitating decision-making, fostering collaboration, and delivering a consistent and positive business partnership experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of Management, Product Owner, or Senior Business Analyst role with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Experience partnering with Finance, Payroll, Treasury, or Corporate functions preferred.
- Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating with internal and external technology delivery teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience supporting Finance, Payroll, Treasury, Tax, Planning, Controls, procure-to-pay, or related corporate business processes.
- Strong understanding of business processes, data flows, reporting requirements, internal controls, and SOX-regulated environments.
- Familiarity with SAP Finance processes and related technologies such as Concur, BlackLine, ONESOURCE, IT2, Power BI, workflow automation tools, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Experience developing and supporting business requirements, process documentation, test plans, implementation activities, and change management efforts.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive alignment, and operate effectively within a global organization.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
Reporting Relationships & Key Interactions
- Reports to the SAP Solution Architect Manager, Finance.
- Partners closely with Finance, Payroll, and Corporate business leaders and subject matter experts to align technology solutions with business priorities.
- Collaborates across the IT Applications organization to ensure solutions are delivered effectively, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Supports organizational change initiatives by promoting adoption, continuous improvement, and business value realization.
