IT Business Analyst Senior - Tax/Finance

Brief Description

The Business Analyst Senior will assess business processes and procedures, analyze business problems, and define business requirements. They will identify and recommend solutions to complex problems and enhancements to current procedures or processes. They will act as a liaison between the business and IT development team, participate in process improvement teams, and lead technical teams on medium to large-sized projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, test, implement, and maintain medium complexity software applications, queries, and reports adhering to IS department standards
• Use case analysis, requirements analysis, and process modeling to assess processes and procedures
• Meet policies and procedures for testing and promoting applications and reports
• Write detailed application and report documentation following established guidelines
• Conduct end user training programs and support
• Manage medium to large scale software implementation/business process reengineering projects
• Take a leadership role in improvement projects such as installations or upgrades of the Enterprise One ERP software and other key software applications
• Plan and design complex maintenance and enhancements, reports, forms, interfaces, and data conversions
• Translate complex user requests into functional specifications for the development team
• Assist post-installation by working with customers and IT personnel to solve complex problems and issues
• Conduct training classes for IT department and customers on application software and processes
• Understand Roseburg's business processes and develop practical and efficient process designs, documentation, and user procedures
• Lead application testing and validation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems / Computer Science / Engineering / Mathematics / Business or related field
• 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or comparable relevant experience, with hands-on experience in Oracle JD Edwards
• 2+ years of experience in Vertex Tax

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in wood products industry
• Experience in SAP Ariba
