IT Buisness Analyst

About the role

The IT Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, clinical teams, and IT, translating business processes, workflows, and reporting needs into clear technical requirements and analytics deliverables. This role focuses on analyzing business processes, documenting requirements, and supporting the development of Power BI dashboards and reports that visualize performance, operational changes, and system usage. The IT Business Analyst ensures reporting and analytics solutions are accurate, meaningful, and aligned with organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clinical, administrative, and operational stakeholders to understand workflows, business processes, and reporting needs.
• Elicit, document, and validate business and reporting requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, and consistency.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
• Support the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they accurately reflect business logic and approved definitions.
• Analyze current-state and future-state processes, identifying opportunities for improved visibility, efficiency, and standardization.
• Collaborate with IT, data, and EHR teams to ensure reporting solutions align with system capabilities, data structures, and governance standards.
• Validate dashboard outputs and reports, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with documented requirements.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate feedback and revisions prior to deployment.
• Develop and maintain documentation including requirements, process flows, data definitions, and report descriptions.
• Provide guidance and support to end users on dashboard functionality, interpretation, and appropriate use.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree is preferred.
• Experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or IT Analyst role, preferably in a healthcare or clinical environment.
• Experience working with reporting or business intelligence tools (Power BI preferred).
