About the role

Harris County is the third largest and most diverse county in the nation, with a population of more than 4.7 million. Harris County Commissioners Court, the County’s governing body, directs a budget of more than $4 billion providing essential services including flood control, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and justice administration. Harris County Universal Services (HCUS) is the enterprise IT solutions center for the departments and offices of Harris County, providing Information Technology, Public Safety and Justice Technologies, 311 Constituent Engagement Services, Fleet Services, and Records and Information Governance Services.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain and update the organization’s IT asset management system with accurate information on hardware, software, licenses, and warranties.
  • Monitor IT asset lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Collaborate with procurement, IT operations, budget, and finance team to ensure proper documentation and compliance of IT assets.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
  • Track software license usage and ensure compliance with vendor agreements and corporate policies.
  • Support the testing and deployment of IT asset-related processes.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of IT asset management tools and processes.
  • Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries regarding asset status, availability, and lifecycle.
  • Ensure proper tagging and classification of assets for easy identification and tracking.
  • Help coordinate IT asset disposal and recycling following company and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of experience working in IT Asset Management

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn and have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of IT infrastructure and asset management best practices.
