Key Responsibilities
- Own the solution architecture for assigned products, ensuring designs are scalable, secure, and implementable.
- Collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders (e.g., the product teams) to understand required business capabilities and success criteria (business context).
- Collaborate with other Enterprise Architects to leverage and improve reference architecture and contribute/own the design of solution architecture.
- Identify, track, and manage enterprise technical debt, partnering with other Enterprise Architects and engineering teams to prioritize and remediate it within technology roadmaps.
- Maintain awareness of enterprise architecture standards, cross-domain dependencies, and shared platforms to ensure solutions align and scale beyond individual products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to break down solution architecture into design patterns that can be implemented successfully and iteratively, where possible.
- Define and promote API and integration architecture patterns — API-first design, well-defined service contracts, event-driven and microservice integration, MACH principals and reusable services that scale across products.
- Apply agentic and intelligent-automation architecture patterns — orchestration, tool and service invocation, retrieval and grounding, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails — where they advance business outcomes.
- Embed security, identity, and data-protection requirements into designs, partnering with security stakeholders and leveraging the enterprise's identity, secrets management, and network security controls.
- Maintain solution design documentation and build technology roadmaps and reference material pertinent to the products of responsibility.
- Actively participate in (and facilitate as needed) required architecture and governance reviews to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and improve operational metrics — monitoring, alerting, logging, building pipelines, and testing — supporting reliability and observability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and platform capabilities, recommending their adoption where they advance Casey's business and technology strategy.
