IT Architect - 504932

Location: Peoria, IL • Duration: 12 months • Pay rate: $50-55/hour on W2

About the role

This role is responsible for gathering requirements, experimenting with various technologies, creating technical design, overseeing development, and verifying successful deployment of integration solutions required for Coupa. The IT Architect will create technical architectures to move data across various applications, including Coupa, and ensure the architecture supports business goals.

A direct team consists of 4 Caterpillar employees and managed services provided by external suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Understand current technical architecture and functionality of systems
• Align architecture with business goals
• Collaborate with developers, security teams, other application teams, Enterprise Architects, and Business Partners
• Work with the Coupa application and its integrations
• Gather requirements from business partners and create design documents
• Oversee testing to verify expected results
• Work with developers to implement solutions
• Coordinate with other application teams to deploy new functionality and resolve issues through architecture changes
• Conduct technology experiments to develop solutions
• Use data to make recommendations and support decisions
• Document data sources, understand technology limitations, and factor in security risks to drive technical solutions into production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• IT-related experience in application development, support, and architecture
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Prior experience creating architecture diagrams and design documentation
• Successfully implemented both API and ETL-based integration architectures
• Experience working with SaaS and cloud-based technologies
• Experience working with major applications serving thousands of global users
