Responsibilities
- Identify, select, and deploy a comprehensive web-based system to replace DEQ’s old applications, improving the delivery of key services both internally and externally.
- Provide feedback on system design, particularly regarding the deployment and management of cloud-based microservices.
- Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes, and practices for quality and effectiveness; recommend improvements.
- Anticipate the impact of new or modified software on existing systems and identify potential problem areas; recommend timely solutions.
- Participate in the design of relational databases that meet user needs.
- Adapt automated systems to accommodate special agency needs; design or enhance agency-unique automated systems to interface with existing systems as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in React, HTML, and CSS.
- Minimum 2 years of experience building and maintaining APIs using REST and/or GraphQL.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with NodeJS as a middle tier.
- Demonstrated experience with application debugging and code fixes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, React, and Redux.
- Experience with RESTful services and/or GraphQL services.
- Experience with version control systems.
- SQL database experience, ideally with Oracle and Postgres.
- Experience with serverless cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Skilled in working closely with business partners in a respectful, sensitive, and professional manner.
- Skilled in designing and building customer-facing JavaScript applications.
- Ability to test and document software using appropriate methodology and techniques.
- Ability to assist in planning and coordinating application design.
- Knowledge of applicable maintenance methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and running native applications in AWS.
About The Role
This position may be filled at either of the following levels:
- Information Technology Analyst II: $35.97 - $61.12 per hour
- Information Technology Analyst I: $28.18 - $47.92 per hour
