About the role
IT at Nextworld operates as a shared services function — our IT team directly supports two business units: Nextworld and Cloud Inventory. This role is based in the Overland Park, KS office and serves both organizations, giving you broad exposure across two distinct but complementary software businesses.
Responsibilities
System Support & Maintenance (60%)
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and backups to ensure availability and security
- Provide end-user support, resolving technical issues in a timely and professional manner
Technology Analysis & Improvement (15%)
- Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement
- Recommend and implement solutions to optimize IT operations and enhance productivity
- Research and evaluate new technologies to support organizational goals
Security & Compliance (10%)
- Assist in maintaining IT security standards, including antivirus, firewalls, and access controls
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable data protection regulations
- Participate in risk assessments and help implement mitigation measures
Collaboration & Documentation (10%)
- Partner with business units to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
- Aid in training employees on IT systems, policies, and best practices
Project Support (5%)
- Contribute to IT-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support and procurement
- Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, OR technical certifications with 1+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of computing, computer systems, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Basic technical proficiency with Windows PC or Mac devices
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service orientation — you put the end user first
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
